According to history books, in 1328, Admiral Le Van Dat (during the Tran Dynasty) discovered islands with nesting swiftlets in the waters of Binh Khang. Afterwards, he was revered as the founder of the Vietnamese bird’s nest profession.

To get to the island, visitors must take a wooden boat or canoe from the residential fishing port in Nha Trang, a distance of 30 km. Train ticket prices range from 490,000-790,000 VND per person.
The road to the island must go through craggy cliffs, on one side is the blue sea and cool breeze. Some road sections are equipped with bridges by the tourism unit to make it easier for tourists to move.

The statue of Admiral of the Tay Son Navy – Le Thi Huyen Tram was built at Hon Noi. According to historical documents, Ms. Le Thi Huyen Tram was assigned to command the navy team at Binh Khang palace and be General Manager of Hon Tre archipelago and the net posts and Yen island (Hon Noi). She organized the exploitation and export of bird’s nests as a source of finance, logistics, and military supplies for the Tay Son dynasty.

In 1788, she was appointed commander of a joint naval force defending several key sea areas. On May 10, 1793, in the war to protect the sovereignty of the territorial sea and the islands, Grand Admiral Le Thi Huyen Tram and Binh Khang An Phu governor Le Van Quang sacrificed their lives. People worship Ms. Le Thi Huyen Tram as the Holy Mother of the Bird’s Nest Island and set up shrines on the Bird’s Nest islands.
