Tips, how does it work?

General finding: tips are not included in prices, and they are not mandatory. But it is customary, in Vietnam, as in Laos, Cambodia and Burma, to hand over a small sum at the end of their service, to guides and drivers.

In practice, and depending on the number of passengers in the group, the scale for the guide is between USD 5 – 12 per day per passenger. Count half as much for the driver. You can’t give anything if you’re not happy with their service.

We do not include tips for guides and drivers in our offers. However, well aware that this could affect your experience during the journey, so all the small tips of rowers, porters, baggage handlers, etc. will be regulated by the guide in connection with Lalatour.

Some tour operators do not talk to you about tipping to give you the impression that their offers are cheaper. Lalatour prefers to talk about it so that you don’t have any unpleasant surprises.
